Kalesar National Park

Kalesar National Park is a protected area of about 53 square kilometers, 13000 acres, in Yamunanagar district, Haryana, India, roughly 46 kilometers from Yamunanagar city and 122 kilometers from Chandigarh, declared a national park on December 8 2003 alongside the adjoining Kalesar Wildlife Sanctuary. Sal forest covers more than half the park, and a 2016 survey recorded 42 Indian leopards among 19 mammal species, with elephants, panthers and red jungle fowl also present; the park borders Rajaji National Park in Uttarakhand and Simbalbara National Park in Himachal Pradesh and includes a century old colonial rest house and an elephant rehabilitation center.
