Kanha National Park is a national park and tiger reserve in the Mandla and Balaghat districts of Madhya Pradesh, India, covering about 940 square kilometers and forming the largest national park in the state. Established as a wildlife sanctuary in 1933, it became a national park in 1955 and a tiger reserve in 1973. The park is known for its population of Bengal tigers, Indian leopards, sloth bears and the barasingha, a swamp deer subspecies for which the park has been a key conservation site.
