Kilimanjaro National Park is a national park of Tanzania, situated about 300 kilometers south of the equator in the Kilimanjaro Region near the town of Moshi. It covers an area of 1,688 square kilometers and includes the whole of Mount Kilimanjaro above the tree line together with the surrounding montane forest belt above 1,820 meters. The park was established in 1973, is administered by the Tanzania National Parks Authority, was declared a UNESCO World Heritage Site in 1987, and was named one of the Seven Natural Wonders of Africa in 2013.
