Kosterhavet National Park is Sweden's first national marine park, inaugurated in September 2009 in Stromstad and Tanum municipalities in Bohuslan, Vastra Gotaland County. Part of the Skagerrak sea, it protects the waters and shores around the Koster Islands, excluding the islands themselves, and borders the Norwegian marine park of Ytre Hvaler to the north. The park covers about 389 square kilometres and is home to Sweden's largest seal colony along with several thousand identified marine species.
