Laguna del Laja National Park, in the Andes of the Bio Bio Region of Chile near Los Angeles, was established in 1958 and covers about 119 square kilometers between roughly 976 and 3,585 meters elevation. Its landscape centers on the Antuco Volcano, the Sierra Velluda range and the Laguna del Laja lake, within Valdivian temperate forest that shelters cougars, foxes and stands of araucaria and the cordilleran cypress.
