Malindi Marine National Park protects a stretch of the Indian Ocean off Malindi on Kenya's coast, about 118 kilometers north of Mombasa, established in 1968 and claimed to be the oldest marine park in Africa. It is managed by the Kenya Wildlife Service and sits within the wider Malindi-Watamu Marine National Reserve alongside neighboring Watamu Marine National Park, protecting coral reefs that shelter tropical fish, barracuda, sea turtles and dolphins.
