Manu National Park

Manu National Park is a national park in the Madre de Dios and Cusco regions of southeastern Peru, established in 1973 and named for the Manu River, which runs through it. The park spans an exceptional elevational range from high Andean grassland down through cloud forest to lowland Amazon rainforest, and it is regarded as one of the most biologically diverse protected areas on Earth, home to an exceptional recorded diversity of bird and mammal species, along with several indigenous communities living in voluntary isolation within its most remote zones. It was inscribed as a UNESCO World Heritage Site in 1987 and is administered by Peru's national protected areas service.
