Melimoyu National Park

Melimoyu National Park, in the comuna of Cisnes in the Aysen Region of Chile, was established in 2018 from land donated by Tompkins Conservation as part of the National Parks of Patagonia Network, and covers about 1,055 square kilometers of Patagonian fjords and channels bordered by the Gulf of Corcovado, the Moraleda Channel and the Jacaf Channel. It was created to protect the Melimoyu volcano, endangered species, and whale and dolphin populations in the adjoining marine waters, and sits alongside three other national parks, Corcovado, Queulat and Isla Magdalena.
