Mombasa Marine National Park and Reserve protects coral reef waters off Mombasa, Kenya, established in 1986 with a 10 square kilometer strictly protected park inside a wider 200 square kilometer reserve, and is the most frequently visited of Kenya's marine parks. Its reef ecosystem supports crabs, starfish, stonefish, sea cucumbers, sea urchins, corals, sea turtles, seagrasses and migratory birds including the crab plover, with water temperatures of 25 to 31 degrees Celsius year round drawing snorkelers, divers and other recreational visitors.
