Oulanka National Park lies in the Northern Ostrobothnia and Lapland regions of Finland, established in 1956 and later expanded in 1982 and 1989 to reach 270 square kilometers. It borders Paanajarvi National Park across the border in Russia, forming a linked protected area spanning the Finnish-Russian frontier.
