Pantanal Matogrossense National Park is a Brazilian national park on the border of the states of Mato Grosso and Mato Grosso do Sul, established on September 24, 1981. It protects a core section of the Pantanal, the world's largest tropical wetland, providing habitat for jaguar, capybara, giant otter and hyacinth macaw populations, and it is managed by ICMBio, the Chico Mendes Institute for Biodiversity Conservation. The park is recognized as a Wetland of International Importance under the Ramsar Convention, designated in 1993, and lies within the broader Pantanal Conservation Complex UNESCO World Heritage Site.
