Paparoa National Park

Paparoa National Park lies on the West Coast of New Zealand's South Island, established on 1 January 1987 and covering about 430 square kilometers from the coastline to the peaks of the Paparoa Range. Its limestone karst landscape includes extensive cave systems such as the commercially run Metro Cave, along with the coastal Pancake Rocks and Blowholes formations. The park shelters rare seabirds including the Westland petrel and marine mammals such as Hector's dolphins, and the Paparoa Track, one of New Zealand's Great Walks, crosses its forested interior and limestone river gorges.
