Polesian National Park lies in the Lublin Voivodeship of eastern Poland, within the historical Polesia region on the Leczna-Wlodawa Lakeland. Established in 1990 and covering about 98 square kilometers, it protects former peat bogs and wetland ecosystems of forests, lakes and marshes near the borders of the Podlaskie region and Masovia.
