Raet National Park

Raet National Park spans the Arendal, Tvedestrand and Grimstad municipalities of Agder county in southeastern Norway, established on December 16, 2016, and covering about 607 square kilometers, all but 8 square kilometers of it marine. The park is named for the long moraine ridge left by a retreating glacier about 12,000 years ago, and its coastline of pebble beaches, sandy shores, rocky outcrops and wetlands includes the Nidelva river delta and the islands of Merdo and Tromoya, with kelp forests and eelgrass beds offshore and rich resident and migratory bird life.
