Repovesi National Park lies in the municipalities of Kouvola and Mäntyharju in southern Finland, a few hours northeast of the Helsinki region. Established in 2003 and classified IUCN Category II, the park covers about 15 square kilometers of land that was formerly used for intensive commercial forestry before its protection. It preserves a mix of pine and birch forest along with numerous lakes and streams, including the Koukunjoki river, and is home to wildlife such as bears and deer.
