Saikai National Park protects more than 400 islands off Nagasaki Prefecture on Kyushu, Japan, designated on March 16, 1955 as the country's 18th national park and covering about 246 square kilometers. It includes the Kujuku Islands, the Hirado Peninsula and the Goto Islands, known for their inlets, high cliffs and volcanic rock formations, with a mild climate supporting semi-tropical vegetation including tree ferns.
