Teide National Park

Teide National Park on the island of Tenerife in Spain's Canary Islands surrounds Mount Teide, which at 3,718 meters is the highest peak in Spain and, measured from the ocean floor, the third highest volcano in the world. The park covers 18,990 hectares and was established as a national park on January 22, 1954, becoming a UNESCO World Heritage Site in 2007 and one of Spain's Twelve Treasures. Teide and the neighboring peak Pico Viejo are the only points in the Canary Islands above 3,000 meters, and an astronomical observatory sits on the park's eastern ridge. It is the most visited national park in Spain, drawing more than 4.4 million visitors in 2023.
