Towada-Hachimantai National Park spans Aomori, Iwate and Akita prefectures in the Tohoku region of Japan, designated on February 1, 1936 and covering about 855 square kilometers across two areas roughly 50 kilometers apart. The Towada-Hakkoda area holds Lake Towada, Mount Hakkoda and the Oirase River valley, while the Hachimantai area holds Mount Hachimantai, Mount Iwate and the Tamagawa hot spring.
