Wielkopolska National Park, also known as Greater Poland National Park, lies in the Greater Poland Voivodeship about 15 kilometers south of Poznan. Established in 1957 and covering about 76 square kilometers, it protects a landscape of post-glacial lakes and forests within the Poznan Lakeland, shaped by glaciation between roughly 70,000 and 10,000 years ago, with headquarters in the village of Jeziory near Puszczykowo.
