Wilsons Promontory, known colloquially as Wilsons Prom or The Prom, is a peninsula forming the southernmost point of the Australian mainland, in the state of Victoria. Most of the peninsula has been protected since 1898, first as a national park and later also as a marine national park covering surrounding waters. It contains the largest coastal wilderness area in Victoria and remained inaccessible by road until the 1930s.
