Kaduna is the capital city of Kaduna State and the former political capital of Northern Nigeria, located in northwestern Nigeria on the Kaduna River. Established by British colonial administrators in the early twentieth century as a planned administrative and military center, Kaduna developed into a major trade hub and gateway to Nigeria's northern states, with textile manufacturing historically a mainstay of its economy.
