6th of October is a satellite city in Giza Governorate, Egypt, located adjacent to Giza as part of the Greater Cairo region. Established as a new city built in the desert, it served as the capital of the now dissolved 6th of October Governorate until 2011 and today hosts a number of local and international educational institutions.
