Anatolia, also called Asia Minor, is the westernmost peninsula of Asia, comprising the majority of the landmass of modern Turkey between the Black Sea, the Aegean Sea and the Mediterranean. A crossroads of civilizations for millennia, hosting the Hittites, Greeks, Persians, Romans, Byzantines and Ottomans in turn, it forms the land bridge historically linking Europe and the Middle East.
