Minnesota is a state in the Upper Midwestern region of the United States, bordered by the Canadian provinces of Manitoba and Ontario to the north and east and by Wisconsin, Iowa, and the Dakotas. Admitted to the Union in 1858 as the 32nd state, its capital is Saint Paul.
