Katsina is a state in the northwestern geopolitical zone of Nigeria, bordered by Zamfara to the west, Kano and Jigawa to the east, Kaduna to the south, and by the international border with Niger to the north. Its capital is the city of Katsina, the state is divided into thirty-four local government areas, and it is nicknamed the Home of Hospitality.
