Edo is a state in the South-South geopolitical zone of Nigeria, created in 1991 out of the former Bendel State and bordered by Kogi to the north, Anambra across the Niger River to the east, Delta to the southeast and south, and Ondo to the west. As of 2024 it ranked as Nigeria's twentieth most populous state with about 5.25 million people, and its capital, Benin City, is the country's fourth largest city and the center of Nigeria's rubber industry.
