Saudi Arabia, officially the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia, is located in the centre of the Middle East and covers the bulk of the Arabian Peninsula, making it the largest country in the Middle East. It is bordered by the Red Sea to the west, Jordan, Iraq and Kuwait to the north, the Arabian Gulf, Bahrain, Qatar and the United Arab Emirates to the east, Oman to the southeast, and Yemen to the south. On behalf of Ibn Saud, Prince Faisal declared the unification of the kingdoms of Hejaz and Nejd as the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia on 23 September 1932. Its capital is Riyadh.
