Protected Islands and Shoals, From an Orkney Seabird Isle to the Bonin Islands
Some protected areas are defined by water on every side. This path begins in the cold seas of northern Europe, moves south through the Aegean and the Gulf of Guinea, and ends in the Pacific and Asian waters, visiting nine islands and shoals that are kept as seabird sanctuaries, marine parks, biosphere reserves and national parks.
